LAHORE: Ex-PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said on Tuesday that a constitutional amendment would be introduced by December 15, and new provinces would be created afterwards.
Speaking to reporters at an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore, he claimed that the former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan was a biggest supporter of new provinces in the country. “It is time for the state to settle its disputes with the PTI,” Fawad said.
He was of the view that governor’s rule in KP could not continue for more than six months. “After that, these are the elected representatives who will have to take over.”
He asked the PTI leadership whether they had a plan in their minds. “Initially, they say they want to talk to the government, and later they talk about bringing a revolution,” he said, adding that they did not have any idea what to do.
Seasoned politician opined there was nobody in the PTI with whom negotiations could be held. “The present leadership of the party is immature,” Fawad said.
He said that JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s reservations were right. “His party workers are being martyred.”
