Samantha Ruth Prabhu mobbed in Indian Hyderabad days after Nidhhi Agerwal scare

Indian actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu was caught in a chaotic crowd situation in Hyderabad on Sunday, with videos of the incident quickly going viral online.

The visuals show the actor struggling to reach her vehicle after a public appearance, sparking renewed concern over celebrity safety, especially as the incident comes just days after actor Nidhhi Agerwal faced a far more alarming ordeal in the same city.

The incident reportedly took place in Jubilee Hills, where Samantha had arrived for the inauguration of Sirimalle Sarees. As word of her presence spread, a large crowd of fans and onlookers gathered outside the venue, overwhelming the area within a short span of time.

Footage circulating on social media shows Samantha attempting to make her way out of the venue amid heavy crowding.

Despite the presence of private security personnel and police officials, the crowd reportedly breached the human barricade.

Several men were seen pushing forward and attempting to take selfies as the actor walked, forcing security staff to physically shield her and create a passage so she could reach her car safely.

The incident has drawn immediate comparisons to what happened on December 17 at Lulu Mall, where Nidhhi Agerwal was mobbed during a song launch event for the Prabhas-starrer The Raja Saab.

In that case, the situation reportedly escalated into manhandling and a near-stampede, prompting widespread criticism.

Following Nidhhi Agerwal’s incident, the Hyderabad police registered a suo motu case against the mall management and event organisers, citing failure to obtain proper permissions and inadequate security arrangements.

However, the recurrence of a similar situation has raised questions about whether lessons were learned or precautions strengthened in the aftermath.

The back-to-back episodes have reignited conversations around “fan boundaries” and celebrity worship, with many pointing to the lack of crowd discipline and planning. Event organisers, in particular, have come under scrutiny for not anticipating turnout levels, especially in cases involving stars with massive public appeal like Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

Despite the visible discomfort and the pressure of the surging crowd, Samantha remained composed throughout the incident, maintaining a calm demeanour as she was escorted out.

As of late Sunday night, neither the actor nor her team has released an official statement addressing the apparent security lapse or the events surrounding the incident.

With two high-profile cases unfolding within days of each other, the spotlight is now firmly on event management practices and public safety measures at celebrity appearances in Hyderabad.
