Pakistan recorded an increase of 28 percent in textile exports on an annual basis (YoY). Pakistan exported textile goods worth $1.74 billion during January 2026, it was reported on Saturday.
Sources said that this increase was witnessed after April 2022. Textile exports increase by 3.57 percent in January on an annual basis.
The volume of textile exports in December 2025 was $1.36 billion. The volume of textile exports in January 2025 was $1.68 billion.
Sources further revealed that textile exports declined for five consecutive months on an annual basis until December 2025.
The government has recently announced several measures, including a reduction in the energy rates and others, to minimise pressure on the country’s trade performance.
Last week, the prime minister announced a decrease of Rs4.4 per unit in the electricity tariff for the industrial sector, in a bid to improve productivity and exports.
