Pakistan railways launches Eid special trains from Lahore to Karachi and other cities

Pakistan Railways has launched its special operations for the upcoming Eid holidays, with the first Eid special train departing from Lahore on Monday evening, marking the start of a series of additional services aimed at facilitating festive travel across the country .

According to officials from Pakistan Railways, the first special train left Lahore at 7:30 pm and is expected to reach Karachi Cantonment at 3:45 pm on Tuesday. The initiative is part of a broader plan to manage the surge in passenger traffic witnessed during Eid-ul-Fitr, when thousands of people travel to their hometowns to celebrate with families.

Additional Eid Special Trains

Railway authorities have scheduled three more special trains to operate on key intercity routes in the coming days to ensure smoother travel arrangements for commuters.

Second Eid special train: This service will run from Quetta to Rawalpindi. It is set to depart on March 17 at 10:00 am and will arrive at its destination on March 18 at 4:30 pm.

Third Eid special train: Departing from Karachi City station on March 17 at 7:00 pm, this train will travel to Peshawar Cantonment, with arrival scheduled for March 19 at 5:00 am.

Fourth Eid special train: The final service will operate from Karachi Cantonment to Lahore. It will depart on March 18 at 7:30 pm and is expected to reach Lahore on March 19 at 5:30 pm.

Officials say the additional trains are intended to reduce overcrowding on regular services and provide greater convenience to passengers during the festive rush .
