Lahore Electricity Supply Corporation (Lesco) imposed a ban on the purchase of AMI smart single-phase meter from market, it was reported on Tuesday.
Lesco fixed the market price of single-phase meter at Rs 11,666. Consumers will have to pay extra security charges.
Lesco will issue a demand notice as per the load requirement of the consumer. Before this, the purchase process was outsourced due to the unavailability of stocks.
During the outsourcing process, Lesco issued No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to many consumers who purchased meters based on these NOCs.
