Electricity is expected to become expensive across the country as a petition was filed in the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Wednesday for Rs1.64 per unit increase under the monthly adjustment.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) filed the petition in NEPRA for an increase under the adjustment for the month of February 2026.

The NEPRA will hear the petition on March 31.

The increase, if approved, will also apply to the consumers of Karachi-Electric (KE).

Presently, consumers across the country are paying their electricity bills under the adjustment for the month of January.
