IHC to hear Imran Khan, Bushra’s pleas in Al-Qadir Trust case on March 31

In an important development in the 190 million Pounds case (Al-Qadir Trust case) against former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday fixed for hearing the petitions filed by the couple, seeking suspension of their sentences.

A two-member bench of the IHC, comprising Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif, will take up the pleas for the hearing on March 31.

The high court has sought a reply from the former prime minister and his wife’s lawyer on a miscellaneous petition filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in which the anti-corruption watchdog argued that the petitions were inadmissible for the hearing.

Both Imran and Bushra had been handed prison terms by an accountability court on January 17, 2025.

At the last hearing on March 11, the IHC had fined the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rs100,000 for employing “delaying tactics” in the case, although the subsequent written order did not formally include the fine.

The court instructed the NAB to come fully prepared for the next hearing while the defence pushed for a swift resolution, citing Imran Khan’s deteriorating eye condition.
