Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has pledged that no child in the province will be deprived of education, as the government moves ahead with wide-ranging reforms to strengthen the education system.
Chairing a high-level meeting in Peshawar, the chief minister reviewed ongoing initiatives and directed officials to accelerate efforts aimed at improving literacy and access to quality schooling across the province.
The chief minister ordered the release of Rs 500 million for the establishment of an interdisciplinary research centre, aimed at promoting innovation and academic development in the province.
The meeting discussed several key proposals, including the establishment of community schools in remote regions to boost literacy, expansion of double-shift schooling, and introduction of IT and artificial intelligence courses in the education system.
Officials were instructed to develop a comprehensive implementation strategy and ensure timely execution of reforms through a dedicated coordination committee.
The provincial government also highlighted progress on reforms such as e-transfer policy, uniform curriculum, semester system, teacher training programmes, virtual schooling, and school-based assessments.
Afridi said these initiatives reflect a broader vision to modernize education and align it with global standards, while ensuring equal opportunities for all children.
The chief minister emphasized that education and health remain top priorities, adding that the government’s ongoing efforts are beginning to show positive results.
He reiterated that the ultimate goal is a complete transformation of the education sector so that every child in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has access to basic and quality education.
