No proof against Pakistan in Pahalgam incident, says Sikh leader Gopal Singh

A fresh political storm has erupted in India after prominent Sikh leader Gopal Singh publicly stated that there is no evidence linking Pakistan to the alleged Pahalgam false flag operation, intensifying debate over the controversial incident.

In a strongly worded statement reported by international media, Gopal Singh questioned the credibility of Indian intelligence agencies, asking why they failed to prevent the incident if prior information was available. He further claimed that the narrative being pushed by the government lacks transparency and factual backing.

According to him, the alleged incident in Pahalgam has been “politically exploited” and used as a tool to build pressure against Pakistan. He outright rejected the official Indian position, suggesting that the episode may have been staged to justify aggressive diplomatic or strategic moves.

His remarks have added fuel to an already heated political atmosphere in India, where opposition voices are increasingly demanding clarity and accountability over security failures. Several lawmakers have raised concerns about the timing and handling of intelligence warnings related to possible unrest in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a parallel development, Indian Member of Parliament Charanjit Singh Channi called the incident “suspicious” and urged authorities to share full facts with the public. He emphasized that transparency is essential to maintain trust, especially in sensitive border regions like Kashmir.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge also made headlines with his sharp criticism of the government, pointing to earlier claims that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had reportedly cancelled a planned visit to Jammu and Kashmir after receiving intelligence warnings about a possible attack just days before the incident.

These overlapping political statements have deepened controversy around the Pahalgam episode, with opposition leaders accusing the government of withholding key information and manipulating narratives for political gain.

The ruling administration, however, continues to maintain its position, insisting that national security agencies are fully competent and that investigations into the incident are ongoing.

As debate intensifies, the Pahalgam case has become a flashpoint in India’s domestic political landscape, raising broader questions about security preparedness, intelligence credibility, and the use of sensitive incidents in political discourse.

For now, no independent verification has confirmed the competing claims, leaving the incident at the center of a growing political and diplomatic controversy.
