Tailor’s daughter sets record with 17 gold medals at Khyber Girls Medical College

LAHORE: A remarkable academic achievement has emerged from Khyber Girls Medical College, where a student has set a new record by winning an exceptional number of gold medals.

Qandeel Murtaza, daughter of a tailor from Haripur, secured an outstanding 17 gold medals, earning widespread admiration during the ceremony. The hall echoed with applause as her name was announced and she stepped forward to receive her honours.

During the event, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa personally awarded the medals, while Qandeel’s father stood proudly by her side. Her achievement reflects not only her dedication and hard work but also the support of her family.

Speaking to media, her father shared that excellence runs in the family. One of Qandeel’s sisters is studying at Khyber Medical College, another serves as a Grade 17 officer in the Federal Investigation Agency, while one has completed a PhD and is working in Islamabad. Her brother has also earned an engineering degree.

Other students also demonstrated impressive performances. A student named Muqaddas won 10 gold medals, while Sabeeh secured seven, highlighting the institution’s strong academic standards.

The achievements of these students stand as a testament to their perseverance and talent, and serve as an inspiration for aspiring medical professionals across the country.
