The chairman of the committee said that my opinion is that parliamentarians should have passports and civil servants should be abolished.

60,000 blue passports are still available, Senator Abdul Qadir said.

The Senate Standing Committee on the Interior also approved amendments to the Islamabad Real Estate Regulation and Development Bill.

Centre Mohsin Aziz proposed amendments to the Islamabad Real Estate Regulation and Development Bill, which were unanimously approved by the committee.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said while talking to media after the Standing Committee meeting that PTI MNA Iqbal Afridi’s son went to a European country on a blue passport.

Iqbal Afridi’s son went to Italy and claimed asylum there.

He said this matter also reached Pakistan through diplomatic channels; such matters have become a cause of disrepute.

He said we have tightened the diplomatic and blue-passports and have reduced their number.

Blue passports will be issued wherever necessary, and this was also discussed in the committee today.

When we talk to other countries, we are asked, ‘What is the number of your passports?’ Talal Chaudhry said.
