Faisal Kundi doubts PPP–PTI relations will improve soon

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has said that he does not see any immediate improvement in relations between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

He said political differences between the two sides remain deep. He added that time and political conduct will decide whether relations can improve in the future.

Faisal Karim Kundi said that if PTI adopts a more political and constructive approach, then better relations may become possible. He stressed that current behaviour is not conducive to dialogue.

He also commented on the issue of the PTI founder’s release. He said it is a political matter and should be treated within the political domain.

The governor said that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has held multiple meetings with the federal government. He said discussions have taken place around five to six times.

He said these meetings focused on key provincial issues. These included the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, law and order, and other administrative concerns.

Faisal Karim Kundi said that Parliament is the most effective platform for political dialogue. He said all stakeholders should use it for meaningful discussion.

He added that PTI often misses opportunities for proper debate. Instead, he said, the party tends to create noise where constructive discussion is required.

He further said that Chief Minister Sohail Afridi should actively and strongly present the case of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at all relevant forums.
