The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast predominantly hot and dry weather across most parts of the country over the next 24 hours, with southern regions expected to face intense heat during daytime hours.
According to the Met Office, temperatures are likely to remain significantly high in Sindh and southern Balochistan, where very hot weather conditions may persist throughout the day. Authorities have advised citizens to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, stay hydrated, and take precautionary measures against heat-related illnesses.
Despite the prevailing dry weather in most areas, rain-windstorms and thunderstorms are expected in upper parts of the country, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and adjoining hilly regions. The PMD warned that isolated heavy rainfall and hailstorms may also occur in some areas during the forecast period.
In Islamabad, residents are likely to experience hot weather during the daytime, while evening and nighttime hours may bring gusty winds, thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms.
The weather department stated that partly cloudy conditions are expected in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is likely at isolated locations including Dir, Swat, Malam Jabba, Kohistan, Bajaur, Kalam, Chitral, Buner, Kohat, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Malakand, Parachinar, Kurram and Waziristan. Some of these areas may also receive heavy downpours and hail.
In Punjab, most districts are expected to remain hot and dry. However, isolated rain-windstorms and thunderstorms may develop in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Murree, Galiyat, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Khushab and nearby areas due to increasing atmospheric instability.
The Met Office added that Sindh would continue to experience dry and extremely hot weather, particularly in upper districts where temperatures may rise well above seasonal averages. Similar conditions are expected in Balochistan, especially in southern districts.
Meanwhile, Kashmir is likely to witness partly cloudy weather with chances of rain, windstorms and thunderstorms at isolated places. Heavy falls and hailstorms may also occur in some areas. Gilgit-Baltistan is expected to remain cloudy with intermittent rain and thunderstorms in various districts.
