Popular Pakistani actor Arslan Butt has officially taken legal action against actress Mamya Shajaffar following controversial allegations discussed during a recent podcast interview. The actor shared a legal notice on social media, strongly denying the accusations and demanding a public apology over what he described as false and defamatory remarks.
Taking to his Instagram account, Arslan Butt posted an image of the legal notice along with a strong statement that read: “Jhootay per Allah ke laanat ho” (May the curse of Allah be upon the liars)
He further wrote: “A legal notice has been sent against false and defamatory remarks. I need a public apology within the given time period, or else be ready for defamation cases, criminal proceedings, and much more.”
The actor also added: “I am neither vulgar nor an attention or fame seeker. There will be severe consequences.”
According to Arslan Butt’s legal team, the allegations made against him are completely false, baseless, and malicious. The notice claims that the statements publicly damaged his dignity, reputation, and professional standing while also causing emotional distress and social embarrassment.
The controversy emerged after Mamya Shajaffar’s appearance on the YouTube show ‘Say It All hosted by Iffat Omar’. During the interview, Mamya spoke about a disturbing experience involving an actor who allegedly made inappropriate comments about her body, attempted unwanted physical closeness, and behaved aggressively on set.
Initially, Mamya referred to the individual as “Arslan Khan” or loosely mentioned the name Arslan, which led social media users to mistakenly target another actor, Arslan Khan, who is married to actress Hira Khan.
After realizing the confusion, Mamya Shajaffar later issued a public clarification through Instagram, apologizing to Arslan Khan and describing him as “an absolute gentleman” who had no connection to the incident.
Subsequently, host Iffat Omar and various entertainment reports indicated that the individual Mamya was allegedly referring to was her ‘Meesni’ co-star Arslan Asad Butt.
Following Arslan Butt’s legal response, many of his fans and followers flooded the comment sections with supportive messages, encouraging him to defend his reputation and pursue legal action.
