The Punjab Police have been given the permission to bring Anmol alias Pinky, the drug dealer, who is presently incarcerated in a Karachi jail, to Lahore for interrogation, it reported on Saturday.
Sources said that teams from Lahore’s Iqbal Town, Model Town and Civil Lines police stations would soon go to Karachi to bring her to the Punjab capital.
Lahore Police had approached the home department as well as a court for the purpose.

IO for forensic of Pinky’s voice notes
Also on Saturday, an investigation officer (IO) in the drug case sought permission from the judicial magistrate in Karachi-South for conducting the forensic of Pinky’s voice notes.
He told the magistrate that during questioning he came across several voice notes of the alleged drug dealer. “However, the suspect denied that those voice notes were hers,” the IO informed.
He argued that voice notes could turn out to be important evidence in an investigation into the case.
On Thursday, 24News TV channel reported that both facilitators of Pinky had said they had nothing to do with the woman and that they had been implicated in a narcotics case without any proof.
Both Sohailur Rehman and Zeeshanur Rehman filed an application in Karachi’s session court in which they prayed to the judicial magistrate to order the removal of their names from the case.
They said they were innocent and were not involved in the drugs business.
On Wednesday, pronouncing a decision in the case of producing Pinky in the court, a judicial magistrate in Karachi-South said there was no need for physical custody of the woman due to security reasons unless the challan was submitted.
However, the magistrate directed the jail superintendent to produce the drug dealer in court whenever summoned by the judge.
The police had sought the court’s permission for producing Pinky in court via a video link.
The Force had argued that the production of the accused in court could create law and order situation.
A case had been registered against the drug dealer at Garden police station of Karachi.
Also on Wednesday, police submitted to the court of Judicial Magistrate-South details of bank accounts of Pinky’s facilitators.
In its report, the police said that bank, jazz cash and other accounts belonging to the accused’s accomplices namely Zeeshanur Rehman and Sohailur Rehman were used for the sale of narcotics.
The report informs that Zeeshanur Rehman has three accounts in UBL and one each in Bank Al-Habib and Bank Al-Falah, while Sohail has one account in UBL and one account in Bank Al-Habib.
Pinky had been arrested from Karachi a few weeks ago.
During interrogation, she uttered the names of several individuals, including some celebrities, who, she said, would purchase drugs from her.
The news of her arrest put under the scanner the flourishing narcotics business in the country.
