Unidentified gunmen attacked a company camp in Ziarat, destroyed heavy equipment and abducted several workers, it was reported on Tuesday.
The assailants targeted the camp of Ghazi Enterprises located on Sepiraragha Road near Amir Khan Sanhobi area on Monday night.
The attackers set on fire all the expensive equipment they found in the camp which included an excavator. They also took away with them several workers present there.
Law enforcement agencies’ personnel rushed to the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.
Panic has gripped the area following the abductions, and residents became worried over the poor law and order situation.
They demanded that the relevant officials investigate the matter thoroughly and take measures to retrieve the abducted people and arrest all the culprits who were involved in this heinous crime.
Terrorist killed in Kalat
A terrorist was shot dead in an operation carried out by police in Kalat on Tuesday, said sources in the police.
The slain terrorist was identified as Mansoor Ahmad who was an active member of a banned organization.
Police sources said the terrorist was planting and improvised explosive device (IED) in Rahimabad area. After getting information, a police team went after the terrorist who after spotting the cops tried to flee towards nearby gardens.
When police challenged him, the terrorists opened fire on the cops and in retaliator firing he was killed.
The cops seized a cane, battery, 15-metre cable, two hand grenades and a mobile phone from the dead terrorist’s custody.
