NA passes FBR Amendment Bill 2026 with majority votes

The National Assembly has passed the Federal Board of Revenue Amendment Bill 2026 with a majority vote, it was reported on Wednesday.

The process of approving supplementary grants for the financial year 2024-25 of federal ministries and divisions has begun.

The Airports Security Force’s demand of Rs 64.8 million for supplementary grants has been approved.

The Cabinet Division’s demand of Rs300 million for supplementary grants has been approved.

The Commerce Division’s demand of Rs5.61 billion for supplementary grants has been approved.

The Defence Division’s demand of Rs1.252 billion for supplementary grants has been approved.

Federal Educational Institutions Garrison’s demand of Rs1.436 billion for supplementary grants has been approved.

Defence services demand of Rs22.86 billion supplemental grant approved.

Power Division’s demand of Rs43.10 billion as a supplementary grant approved.

With the approval of additional expenditure, the process of budget approval from the National Assembly completed.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb presented the reports of the Auditor General of Pakistan for 2024-25 and 2025-26 in the House.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said the role of the provinces in providing federal grants is commendable.

Federal grants will be provided by all four provinces, Ishaq Dar said.

He said this money will be spent on defence and other important matters.

Ishaq Dar said Pakistan was the first and only country to condemn the attack on Iran and a temporary ceasefire was achieved due to Pakistan’s efforts.

He said Iran and the US chose Pakistan as a mediator.

‘I congratulate the Field Marshal and the Prime Minister,’ Ishaq Dar said.

He said Pakistan mediated vigorously for peace in the region.
