Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has appointed 23 members of the provincial assembly as parliamentary secretaries for various government departments, according to an official notification.
Under the appointments, MPA Ali Shah from Swat has been named parliamentary secretary for housing, while Mardan lawmaker Amir Farzand Khan has been assigned the mineral development portfolio.
Sultan Room of Swat has been appointed parliamentary secretary for Auqaf, Hajj, religious and minority affairs, while Murtaza Khan Tarkai of Swabi will serve as parliamentary secretary for agriculture.
Fateh-ul-Mulk Ali Nasir from Lower Chitral has been assigned tourism, archaeology and museums, while Zar Alam Khan of Nowshera has been appointed parliamentary secretary for excise, taxation and narcotics control.
Muhammad Riaz from Kolai-Palas Kohistan will serve as parliamentary secretary for sports and youth affairs, and Abdul Kabir Khan of Buner has been given the higher education portfolio.
Muhammad Naeem of Swat has been appointed parliamentary secretary for revenue and estate, while Muhammad Azam Khan from Lower Dir will oversee Zakat, Ushr, social welfare, special education and women’s empowerment.
Asif Khan from Upper Waziristan has been appointed parliamentary secretary for finance, while Zubair Khan of Battagram has been assigned the irrigation department.
Shafiullah from Lower Dir will serve as parliamentary secretary for transport and mass transit, while Sharafat Ali of Swat has been appointed parliamentary secretary for communication and works.
Muhammad Yameen from Upper Dir has been assigned public health engineering, and Ishaq Ahmed of Nowshera will serve as parliamentary secretary for local government, elections and rural development.
Rajab Ali Khan Abbasi from Abbottabad has been appointed parliamentary secretary for elementary and secondary education, while Mehboob Sher of Mohmand has been assigned livestock and dairy development.
Sher Ali Afridi from Peshawar will serve as parliamentary secretary for climate change, forestry, environment and wildlife.
Obaidur Rehman of Lower Dir has been appointed parliamentary secretary for information and public relations, while Johar Muhammad from Lakki Marwat will oversee technical education and the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority.
Zarshad Khan of Mardan has been assigned industries, commerce and technical education, while Zahidullah Khan from Bannu has been appointed parliamentary secretary for home and tribal affairs.
The appointments expand the provincial government’s parliamentary team under Afridi, who has served as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister since October 2025.
