MQM-P withdraws AJK election candidate in favour of PML-N

KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has announced the withdrawal of its candidate in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections in favour of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Speaking to the media, MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar said the party had placed its demands for constitutional amendments and the restoration of the Sindh governorship before the PML-N leadership.

Sattar said the office of the Sindh governor was part of MQM-P’s political mandate and should be returned to the party.

He expressed hope that the PML-N and MQM-P alliance would secure victory in the upcoming Azad Kashmir elections.
