QUETTA: Security forces killed 12 terrorists in two intelligence-based operations (IBOs) carried out in Washuk and Mastung districts of Balochistan on August 5 and 6, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
According to the military’s media wing, the operations were conducted under “Rad-ul-Fitna-3”, part of the ongoing intelligence-driven counterterrorism campaign targeting what it described as “Fitna Al Hindustan.”
The ISPR said security forces detected the movement of six terrorists in Washuk district on August 5 and launched a precise operation. Following an exchange of fire, all six militants were killed.
In a separate intelligence-based operation conducted in Mastung district on August 6, another six terrorists were killed during an intense firefight with security forces, the ISPR said. A terrorist hideout was also destroyed during the operation.
The military’s media wing said the operations were part of the broader “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.
The ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue intelligence-driven operations across the country until the threat of militancy is eradicated.
