ISLAMABAD: Rana Sanaullah Adviser to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Political Affairs has claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Murad Saeed is currently in Afghanistan and is influencing political developments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Rana Sanaullah alleged that Murad Saeed was directing the provincial government from Afghanistan and had played a role in Sohail Afridi becoming the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader also claimed that PTI founder Imran Khan had reportedly not known Sohail Afridi personally. These remarks were presented as Rana Sanaullah’s assertions during the interview.
Discussing the breakdown of negotiations between the government and opposition, Rana Sanaullah said the government had made sincere efforts to accommodate the opposition’s demands.
He maintained that Sohail Afridi and Murad Saeed had played a significant role in the failure to reach an agreement. According to him the government had offered the opposition what it had requested during the discussions but the negotiations did not produce the desired outcome.
Rana Sanaullah further alleged that certain individuals were unwilling to resolve political disagreements through dialogue or consultations with political representatives.
The prime minister’s adviser also commented on the political arrangements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying the current provincial setup had been formed after careful consideration.
He added that former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur was not being assigned any responsibility in the province under the existing arrangement.
His comments come amid continuing political differences between the government and opposition particularly over negotiations and leadership decisions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Rana Sanaullah’s claims about Murad Saeed’s location and political influence have not been independently verified in the supplied report.
