ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad has granted pre-arrest bail to four Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including Asad Qaiser, Atif Khan, Latif Khosa and Faisal Amin Gandapur, in 22 cases related to the November 26 protest and Supreme Court-related matters.
ATC Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain heard fresh pre-arrest bail applications filed by the four PTI leaders and granted them relief until February 11.
The court directed each accused to submit surety bonds worth Rs5,000.
According to the court proceedings, former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser was granted pre-arrest bail in nine cases, while former provincial minister Atif Khan secured bail in four cases.
PTI leader and lawyer Latif Khosa was granted bail in three cases, while Faisal Amin Gandapur obtained pre-arrest bail in six cases.
The court had dismissed the bail applications of all four PTI leaders a few days earlier due to their failure to appear before the court.
Following the dismissal of their earlier applications, the accused filed fresh petitions seeking pre-arrest bail.
After hearing the applications, Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain granted pre-arrest bail to all four accused until February 11, subject to the submission of the required surety bonds.
The cases concern protests and related incidents involving PTI leaders, including the November 26 protest in Islamabad.
