ISLAMABAD: PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has rejected claims made by Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif regarding efforts to secure a meeting with the party’s founder, Imran Khan.
Speaking to the media in Peshawar, Gohar said he had made every possible effort to meet the former prime minister. He dismissed Saif’s claim that he had been offered a meeting with Imran Khan but had failed to avail the opportunity.
Gohar also rejected all the claims made by Saif during a television interview, describing them as false and baseless.
He said the party had used every available channel, including legal proceedings and negotiations, to gain access to Imran Khan. However, despite repeated attempts, the authorities had not allowed even a single meeting with the former prime minister.
The PTI chairman further said access to Imran Khan had been one of the party’s key conditions during negotiations. He maintained that the party had consistently sought a meeting but had received no permission.
Meanwhile, Saif had claimed that Senator Raja Nasir Abbas was in direct contact with influential figures in the establishment. However, he said these contacts were not aimed at securing Imran Khan’s release.
Gohar’s response came amid continuing questions over the PTI leadership’s efforts to establish contact with its incarcerated founder.
