Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has described China’s rapid development as a model for the world, emphasizing its global influence in economic growth and stability.
In her message marking Chinese Language Day, she extended greetings to the people of China and acknowledged the widespread use of the Chinese language across the globe. She noted that it is among the most spoken languages and holds official status at the United Nations.
Maryam Nawaz praised China’s role in promoting peace and international cooperation, calling its progress an example for other nations to follow. She highlighted that China’s growing political and economic importance continues to shape global dynamics.
She also underlined the role of language in strengthening international ties. According to her, learning Chinese can help deepen Pakistan-China relations, especially in trade, diplomacy, and cultural exchange.
The chief minister pointed out that initiatives are already underway in Punjab to promote Chinese language learning. She mentioned that police personnel assigned to protect Chinese nationals are being trained in the language to improve communication and coordination.
Maryam Nawaz further said that understanding Chinese language and culture can open new opportunities, particularly in accessing China’s vast market and building stronger people-to-people connections.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Saturday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the pace and quality of ongoing development projects across the province, stressing the need for effective oversight and timely completion of all schemes.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from multiple departments, who presented a comprehensive update on development initiatives. A digital project gallery was used to provide visual insights into progress at the tehsil level, while a live dashboard displayed real-time data on financial expenditures and physical advancements of projects.
