Sindh CM and Danish envoy discuss investment, green energy ties

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah met Denmark’s Ambassador Maja Dyris Mortensen in Karachi, where both sides discussed investment opportunities and cooperation in renewable energy, especially wind power projects.

During the meeting, the chief minister said the Sindh government is working to improve electricity distribution and reduce power costs by cutting production expenses and transmission losses. He added that efforts are underway to provide cheaper electricity to the public and support industrial growth in the province.

Both leaders focused on the potential of wind energy in Sindh’s coastal areas. CM Murad Ali Shah said the province has strong resources for wind power generation and is keen to expand clean energy projects with international support.

Ambassador Mortensen expressed Denmark’s interest in supporting green energy initiatives in Sindh. She said Pakistan’s coastal region could become an important hub for renewable energy development and highlighted Denmark’s commitment to environmentally friendly investments.

The chief minister also shared plans for developing the coastal area of Keti Bandar, saying it could be turned into a modern port to reduce pressure on Karachi’s existing port and boost future economic activity.

He invited Danish investors to explore opportunities in Sindh, assuring them of a supportive environment for foreign investment. Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation and further improve Pakistan–Denmark relations.
