PHA bans temporary eid rides, tightens swing safety rules in Lahore

LAHORE: The Punjab Horticulture Authority (PHA) has imposed a ban on temporary mechanical swings during Eidul Azha, citing safety concerns.

According to officials, only permanent swings installed in parks will be allowed, and those will require a valid fitness and safety certificate before operation. The decision aims to ensure public safety during the Eid holidays when large crowds visit parks.

Director General PHA Raja Mansoor Ahmed said that all district agencies must ensure strict implementation of the rules and confirm that every swing meets required safety standards. He also directed that instructions issued by the Home Department notification be fully enforced.

He added that PHA staff will remain on duty throughout the Eid days to monitor parks and manage arrangements. Officials will stay in close coordination with district administrations to ensure smooth implementation of all safety measures.

The DG further said that PHA teams will focus on cleanliness and the provision of public facilities in parks to facilitate citizens during the festive period.
