RDA funds remain fully accessible: SBP Governor

State Bank of Pakistan Governor Jameel Ahmad has clarified that overseas Pakistanis can freely withdraw money from their Roshan Digital Accounts without any restrictions.

While briefing the National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance about investment trends and banking performance, Jameel Ahmad said the Roshan Digital Account (RDA) system now includes more than 900,000 accounts. He explained that the platform operates entirely online, allowing account holders to transfer or withdraw funds instantly whenever they choose.

The SBP governor also shared details about the movement of funds through the scheme over the past few years. According to him, overseas Pakistanis withdrew around $300 million from RDAs during the 2022–23 fiscal year. The outflow increased significantly in fiscal year 2024, when account holders transferred nearly $2.2 billion abroad. In fiscal year 2025, withdrawals rose further to approximately $2.3 billion.

He added that during the first nine months of the current fiscal year alone, around $1.9 billion has already moved out of Roshan Digital Accounts.

Jameel Ahmad stressed that the initiative continues to offer complete financial flexibility to overseas Pakistanis and supports smooth digital banking and investment services.
