Fresh Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon have left at least 13 people dead, including a child, a woman, rescue workers and a Lebanese soldier, as tensions along the border continue to spiral despite growing international concern.
According to Lebanese officials, the latest wave of attacks targeted multiple towns across southern Lebanon, causing widespread destruction and panic among civilians already exhausted by months of instability and violence.
The deadliest strike was reported in the city of Nabatieh, where five people were killed after an Israeli attack hit the area. Among the victims were two rescue workers who were reportedly helping civilians during emergency operations when the strike occurred. Several others were injured as buildings and nearby infrastructure suffered severe damage.
Lebanese authorities also confirmed that four more people, including a Lebanese soldier, were killed near the town of Jebchit. The attack intensified fears that the conflict could expand further, especially as military and civilian casualties continue to rise on both sides of the border.
In another tragic incident in Bint Jbeil, four civilians lost their lives, including a child and a woman. Local residents described scenes of chaos and grief as rescue teams rushed to search through damaged areas following the bombardment.
The latest escalation comes amid ongoing cross-border hostilities between Israel and armed groups operating in southern Lebanon. While Israeli officials say the operations are aimed at eliminating security threats near the border, Lebanese authorities have accused Israel of targeting civilian-populated areas and violating international law.
Humanitarian concerns are also mounting as repeated strikes continue to displace families and damage critical infrastructure across southern Lebanon. Aid agencies and local medical teams are struggling to cope with the growing number of casualties and emergency situations.
The violence has once again raised fears of a broader regional conflict, with international observers urging restraint and immediate diplomatic efforts to prevent further bloodshed in the Middle East.
As rescue workers continue clearing debris and searching affected neighborhoods, residents in southern Lebanon face another night overshadowed by fear, uncertainty and loss.
