Political tensions in Gilgit-Baltistan have escalated as workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) clashed in Astore constituency number 1, resulting in multiple injuries.
According to reports, the confrontation occurred amid heightened political activity in the region, where tensions have been running high ahead of electoral developments in the constituency. The situation in GBA-13 Astore-I has reportedly become increasingly volatile.
During the clash, workers from both parties allegedly used sticks and other blunt objects, leading to injuries among participants from both sides.
Local sources said several political workers were injured in the incident, though the exact number of casualties has not yet been officially confirmed. The injured were shifted to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
