Omar Din alias Jazba, a militant taken into custody by security forces, has made some startling revelations in his confessional statement, it was reported on Saturday.
He said he joined the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), declared an outfit of Khawarij by the government, on January 12, 2025 after he had a quarrel with his father.
He informed that 60 to 70 Afghanis accompanied each commander, and that he as well as other fighters had received training in Afghanistan.
The militant confessed that the network to which he belonged was involved in an attack on Shadi Khel Base and a bomb blast at Kota Khawa Road, which had claimed the lives of seven police personnel in the holy month of Ramadan.
He told the interrogators that the militants were also involved in immoral activities.
Jazba went on to say that militants in Pakistan were funded by commanders based in Afghanistan.
He said that commanders misguided the youth by telling them that their struggle was for the enforcement of Shariah.
The militant urged the youth not to believe in the narrative of these commanders.
