KP regime change to yield positive results in fight against terrorism: Naqvi

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that there will be “good” results against terrorists when the government leads the forces and that the police, Army and Advisory Council have to work together.

Addressing the apex committee meeting attendees, Naqvi praised Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police personnel who embraced martyrdom while fighting against terrorism.

“We saw them [PTI] in two and a half years, told them to come with us, but it didn’t happen,” he said, adding: “Our intention is clear; we are with you.”

KP governor vows no compromise on security, says police demands must be met

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has pledged that security will remain a priority of the KP advisory council, saying the provincial administration will meet police demands and make sustained efforts to eliminate terrorism.

“We can make sacrifices on development, but not on security,” the governor said while chairing an apex committee meeting alongside Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqv.

He said the state had placed its trust in the council, creating a responsibility to work around the clock and deliver tangible results.

The governor said people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa wanted peace and prosperity and noted that residents travelling to other provinces observed the security situation and living conditions there.

The governor said that all relevant stakeholders were on the same page in their efforts to restore peace in KP, stressing the need for coordinated action by the army and police.
