Punjab Ramazan relief package delivered transparently, says Azma Bukhari

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has said that the provincial government successfully carried out its Ramazan relief initiative while maintaining the dignity of beneficiaries.

In an official statement, she highlighted that the government’s “Ramazan Guardian Package” achieved its core objectives, including the distribution of financial assistance cards, the establishment of subsidised “Dastarkhwan” meal points, and the setup of special Ramazan bazaars to provide essential commodities at reduced prices.

The minister said millions of deserving families received aid cards directly at their homes, eliminating the need for them to stand in long queues or seek help publicly. She emphasized that the multi-billion-rupee package was implemented with transparency and efficiency, ensuring that assistance reached those who needed it most.

Referring to the province-wide “Maryam’s Dastarkhwans,” she noted that thousands of people benefited daily from free meals at Iftar time. She described the initiative as part of the broader welfare vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, aimed at improving public service delivery and social protection.

Azma Bukhari added that the current administration has focused on enhancing the capacity of ministers and government officials to better serve the public. She contrasted this approach with previous governments, saying that earlier, citizens had to actively seek assistance, whereas now relief measures are being delivered directly to their doorsteps.
