The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency has taken extensive action against blasphemous and immoral online content, blocking over 600 URLs on grounds of blasphemy, according to details presented in the National Assembly.
In a written response, authorities stated that more than 2,100 additional URLs were blocked for content deemed damaging to the reputation and dignity of individuals.
The agency also reported a significant number of cybercrime cases in 2025, including 545 incidents of cyber harassment and 322 cases of hate speech. Additionally, 187 cases of disinformation, 173 of defamation, and 58 cases involving child abuse were recorded during the year.
According to the data, NCCIA received 435 complaints related to blasphemous content in 2025, leading to the registration of 98 inquiries. As a result, 42 first information reports (FIRs) were lodged and 73 individuals were arrested.
Legal proceedings in these cases have so far resulted in the indictment of three accused, while one individual has been acquitted by the court.
Officials said the measures are part of ongoing efforts to curb unlawful online content and address the rising trend of cybercrime in the country.
