Punjab opens LHV admissions across all districts

The Government of Punjab has announced admissions for the Lady Health Visitor (LHV) course, offering training opportunities for women across all districts of the province. The Department of Health and Population will begin the program on May 2, 2026, at District Health Development Centers (DHDCs) and selected Tehsil Headquarters hospitals where Schools of Midwifery operate.

Officials say the initiative aims to improve primary healthcare services, especially in maternal and child health, by preparing a new group of trained female health workers.

Applicants with an FSc (Pre-Medical) qualification and at least 50 percent marks will receive preference, although candidates with a Matric Science background, including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, may also apply. Candidates must hold a Punjab domicile, be medically fit, and fall within the maximum age limit of 35 years. Hafiz-e-Quran applicants can receive additional consideration if they provide valid certification from a recognized institution.

The department will conduct the entire admission process online through a centralized system to ensure transparency and merit-based selection. Candidates must register on the official admission portal, complete the application form, and upload verified documents, including CNIC, domicile, and academic certificates. Authorities have warned that any false or incomplete information will lead to disqualification and possible legal action.

The deadline to submit applications is April 27, 2026. Only fully completed online applications will be accepted. Selected candidates must confirm their admission within the given timeframe; otherwise, officials will offer the seat to the next eligible applicant on the merit list.

The Health Department has advised applicants to regularly check the official website for updates on merit lists and schedules. For further assistance, candidates can contact the government helpline at 1033.

The program is expected to strengthen community-level healthcare services while creating professional opportunities for women across Punjab.
