ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has directed the Adiala Jail superintendent to decide within two days a petition regarding access to Bushra Bibi’s personal doctor and family meetings, and has summoned him in person on May 6.
During the hearing, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir of the Islamabad High Court heard a petition filed by Bushra Bibi’s daughter, Mubashira.
The court inquired from the petitioner whether any application had been submitted to the Adiala Jail authorities.
The petitioner’s lawyer, Salman Akram Raja, submitted a copy of the application sent to the jail authorities and stated that the request had been delivered both through courier and in person.
He further stated that Bushra Bibi underwent surgery in the night between April 16 and 17. Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir remarked that the court was aware of the situation as it was already circulating on social media.
The court noted that the petition was being forwarded to jail authorities so that they could take a decision on it. It also directed the state counsel to ensure that a decision on the application is made before the next hearing.
The court ordered the Adiala Jail superintendent to decide the matter within two days and fixed the next hearing of the case for May 6.
