The Ministry of Climate Change submitted a detailed report regarding the effects of climate change on human health in the National Assembly which revealed that over 135,000 people die every year after being affected due to climate change in Pakistan, it was reported on Monday.
The report further stated that air pollution also affects our ages, and this pollution is decreasing our age by 2 to 7 years.
Air pollution is becoming a “silent murderer” in Pakistan. Toxic particles, including small particles (PM2.5), are dangerous for human health.
Air pollution is also becoming the main cause of heart, lung, and respiratory-related diseases. In every big city of Pakistan, air pollution is becoming a challenge for every Pakistani.
National Clean Air Policy 2023 is becoming a national challenge. Lahore and its surrounding areas are affected by serious pollution. In the winter season, smog and pollution is becoming a challenge.
Vehicle exhaust, industrial activities, construction work, and burning of crop residues are considered major causes of pollution.
In 2030, Pakistan’s total population is likely to reach 120 million. Installation and expansion of air quality monitoring systems are underway.
Decision to tighten monitoring of the burning of agricultural residues, vehicles emitting smoke, and factories.
