Putin rejects China influence claim on Pakistan

Russian President Vladimir Putin has rejected the claim that Pakistan is under China’s influence. He said Pakistan is a sovereign and independent country.

He made the remarks during the St. Petersburg Economic Forum. The statement came in response to a question from an Indian journalist regarding Pakistan-China relations.

Putin said it is wrong to describe Pakistan as being controlled by any other country. He said Pakistan maintains its own independent foreign policy.

He added that Pakistan has relations with multiple countries. These relations are based on its national interests.

The Russian president also spoke about ties between Russia and China. He said Moscow has always cooperated with Beijing in the military field.

He said this cooperation will continue in the future as well. He described Russia-China relations as stable and ongoing.

On Iran, Putin said Russia shares a trust-based relationship with Tehran. He said Moscow can help in resolving regional crises.

He expressed hope that all sides involved in the Iran situation will find a peaceful solution. He stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy.

Putin also referred to the Ukraine conflict. He said Russia remains open to a peaceful settlement.

He said efforts are ongoing to find a diplomatic way forward. The comments come amid continued global tensions and shifting alliances among major powers.

Earlier, In a newly released open letter addressed to Putin, Zelenskyy expressed readiness for a full cessation of hostilities during any formal negotiation process. He stressed that both nations have already endured “enough destruction and human loss,” adding that it is now time for leadership to make “difficult but necessary decisions” to end the conflict.

The Ukrainian president’s message carried both urgency and firmness. While offering a diplomatic opening, he also warned that Ukraine remains fully capable of continuing its defense if Russia rejects a ceasefire agreement. “Too much fighting has already happened. The choice now lies with Moscow,” he stated in the letter.
