Pakistan has carried out what officials described as effective and intelligence-based action against militant hideouts in Afghan border areas, killing 26 militants and destroying four key facilities.
According to Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, the operation targeted “Fitna al-Khawarij” networks operating across the border, following recent attacks on security installations in Pakistan.
The minister said the action came after assaults on a Frontier Constabulary post in Musa Darra, a military checkpoint in North Waziristan, and the Bannu police station. He added that Pakistan responded by striking militant safe havens and planning centres based on credible intelligence.
Officials stated that the operation resulted in the destruction of four major facilities, including a training centre, weapons depot, safe houses and other militant infrastructure. The targeted sites were linked to commanders identified as Aalim Khan Khushali and Akhtar Muhammad Janikhel.
The information minister further said that all targets were engaged with precision to avoid collateral damage, and the operation was conducted in a controlled and limited manner.
He reiterated that Pakistan has always pursued peace and stability in the region, adding that the protection of citizens and national security remains the government’s top priority.
Tarar said that under the framework of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, operations against terrorism will continue with full force and determination.
He added that security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to eliminating terrorism supported from across the border.
