British Deputy FM Falconer, Mohsin Naqvi discuss regional stability

British Deputy Foreign Minister Hamish Falconer met with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad, it was reported on Wednesday.

Pak-UK relations, the overall situation in the region and various areas of mutual cooperation were discussed in the meeting.

The British deputy foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s positive role in facilitating understanding between the US and Iran and said that Shahbaz Sharif and Asim Munir played a historic role in promoting peace.

Hamish Falconer said Iran-US understanding has presented Pakistan as a champion of global peace.

 

In the meeting, the two countries agreed to increase cooperation in various fields, including counter-terrorism, combating illegal migration, institutional cooperation and police training.

Mohsin Naqvi said positive results of the upscale project are emerging and the capacity of Pakistani institutions has increased significantly.

Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan is taking indiscriminate action against illegal migration and human trafficking.

Both ministers agree to work together to resolve the issue of fake student visas.

Many terrorist organisations are active in Afghanistan, and the Afghan government will have to stop using its land against Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi said.

Mohsin Naqvi reiterated his commitment to further strengthen Pak-UK relations.

Federal ministers Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Ali Pervez Malik, Talal Chaudhry, Aun Chaudhry, Interior Secretary Muhammad Khurram Agha, British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, DG FIA, Commandant NPA and DG NCCIA were also present on the occasion.
