ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that the people of Azad Kashmir aspire to development similar to Lahore rather than Karachi, claiming they will choose progress and stability over what he described as failed governance.
Addressing a workers’ convention, the senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said Kashmiris are well aware of the performance of both his party and its political rivals. In remarks directed at Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Ahsan Iqbal said the public knows which governments delivered development and under whose tenure corruption flourished.
The federal minister also claimed that the PML-N’s development agenda enjoys support across the country, asserting that a vast majority of Pakistanis favor the model of progress associated with Lahore. He described the PML-N as a symbol of Pakistan’s strength and expressed confidence in the party’s nationwide popularity.
