Located on the coast of the Red Sea, Saudi Arabia has rapidly emerged as an important international trade hub where a new and fast trade corridor between Europe and the Gulf countries has become operational.
According to Saudi authorities in Jeddah, the NEOM Port has now become a modern and shortest route for access from Europe to Gulf markets significantly transforming trade and logistics systems in the region. Through this new corridor, the transportation of goods between Europe, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and other regional markets has improved considerably.
Officials say that under this project, the delivery of imports to Gulf countries including the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Iraq and Oman has become faster making the supply chain more efficient and time-sensitive.
Through the NEOM corridor, goods are being rapidly transported using truck and ferry services further increasing Saudi Arabia’s commercial importance in the Red Sea region. Experts believe that this project could further strengthen Saudi Arabia’s role in the global trade map in the future.
