Pakistan steps up diplomatic push to ease US-Iran tensions, says Ahsan Iqbal

NAROWAL: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said that Pakistan is playing an active role in efforts aimed at reducing tensions between the United States and Iran.

Speaking to reporters in Narowal, he stated that the government is using diplomatic channels to support dialogue and promote a peaceful resolution to the ongoing dispute between the two countries.

The minister said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is visiting friendly nations as part of broader diplomatic efforts. He added that Field Marshal Asim Munir has also traveled to Iran and is maintaining continuous contact with US officials to help bridge gaps and encourage constructive engagement.

Ahsan Iqbal emphasized that Pakistan wants the initial contacts between the two sides to develop into serious and result-oriented negotiations. He said the government hopes these efforts will lead to stability in the region and prevent further escalation of the conflict.
