Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a meeting with South Korea’s Vice Minister for Strategy and Intelligence Jeong Yeondoo on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, where both sides discussed regional developments and matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting in Antalya, the two officials exchanged views on evolving geopolitical situations and emphasized the importance of continued diplomatic engagement to maintain stability across regions.
The South Korean side appreciated Pakistan for its consistent and constructive diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond. Seoul acknowledged Islamabad’s role in encouraging dialogue and reducing tensions in sensitive geopolitical situations.
Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy. He said Pakistan believes that sustainable peace can only be achieved through engagement rather than confrontation.
He also highlighted Pakistan’s active participation at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum and reiterated Islamabad’s desire to strengthen cooperation with South Korea in multiple fields, including trade, technology, and diplomatic coordination.
The meeting reflects growing international recognition of Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach, particularly its role in facilitating communication between key regional actors during periods of heightened tension.
Earlier on the sidelines of the forum, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also held high-level meetings with Turkish officials, where messages from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan were conveyed, further underscoring the importance of Pakistan’s engagement at the global diplomatic gathering.
