Five dacoits were killed during police encounters in Pattoki and Chunian, it was reported on Monday.
The first police encounter occurred at Chunian Road in Pattoki, in which two hardened dacoits were killed. Both dacoits were wanted by Crime Control Department (CCD) team in different criminal cases.
These dacoits escaped from committing robbery in the house of the security incharge City police.
The CCD team received credible information that two dacoits were looting people near the canal at Chunian Road.
After taking notice of the CCD team, the dacoits started firing. During the exchange of fire, two dacoits were killed, and their accomplices escaped.
All the dacoits were wanted by the police as various criminal cases were registered against them in different police stations of Kasur.
Another police encounter took place near Kot Gama in the jurisdiction of City Police Station Chunian, in which three dacoits were killed during an encounter with the CCD team.
These three dacoits were involved in serious criminal cases. The dead dacoits were identified as Tanveer, Zeeshan, and Ali Raza.
17 cases were filed against Tanveer, 10 against Zeeshan, and 12 against Ali Raza in different police stations of Chunian, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, and Okara.
