Two policemen guarding polio teams were martyred in different armed attacks in Bajaur District on Monday.
In the first incident, unidentified gunmen targeted a polio team Salarzai Tehsil, during which a policeman, Syed Aziz, was martyred, said local sources.
A contingent of police rushed to the shooting site and shifted the martyred cop’s body to Bajaur Police Line.
The police have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to hunt down the attackers.
Hours later, another polio team came under attack in Tabbai village of Salarzai Tehsil, during which Constable Syed Qadir Shah was martyred, as he was returning from duty.
