ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ejaz Chaudhary has approached the Supreme Court seeking suspension of his sentence and challenged the Lahore High Court’s April 28 order.
In his petition filed before the Supreme Court, Chaudhary requested that the trial court’s August 11, 2025 decision be suspended and that the Lahore High Court order be set aside.
The petitioner argued that he has no previous criminal record and that his name was added to the case later. According to the petition, the prosecution’s case is based on allegations related to meetings and a conspiracy at Zaman Park.
The petition stated that both prosecution witnesses are government employees, while the Lahore High Court has already suspended the sentence of another accused in the same case. It argued that Chaudhary is also entitled to similar relief.
Chaudhary further claimed that he has also been convicted in another case registered at Sarwar Road Police Station Lahore regarding the same incident, and that proceedings in two separate cases over the same occurrence are against the law.
The petition was filed against the sentence awarded in the case registered at Shadman Police Station.
