Noreen Niazi has submitted an initial response to a notice issued by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency over her alleged controversial remarks concerning state institutions, denying the allegations and seeking the complete record of the case, it was reported on Tuesday.
The reply was submitted through her counsel, Advocate Faisal Malik.
Niazi raised objections to the notice, arguing that it did not provide complete details of the allegations, the underlying complaint, evidence or the material attributed to her.
She strongly denied spreading hateful or objectionable content against any state institution.
Her counsel also challenged the direction requiring her to appear personally in Islamabad and raised legal objections to the manner in which the summons was issued.
The response requested the NCCIA to provide a copy of the complaint, supporting evidence and the allegedly unlawful material so that a detailed reply could be prepared.
It said a comprehensive response would be submitted after the complete record was made available.
The reply referred to constitutional protections, the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act and provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure, and called on the agency to fulfil all legal requirements during the investigation.
Niazi also requested the authorities to refrain from exerting unlawful pressure or initiating coercive or disciplinary action before giving her a fair opportunity to examine and respond to the allegations.
She assured the agency of cooperation with the investigation while reserving all legal rights and remedies available to her.
The NCCIA has directed Niazi to appear before the agency on July 27.
