Illegal currency exchange network busted in Lahore FIA operation

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore arrested two accused involved in hawala hundi and illegal currency exchange during a crackdown, it was reported on Wednesday.

According to the FIA spokesperson, the operation was carried out by the Commercial Banking Circle Lahore.

The arrested accused have been identified as Abdul Rahim and Muhammad Fahim. The accused have appeared to be Afghan nationals.

The accused were arrested from McLeod Road, Lahore, in a raid.

The accused were involved in Hawala Hundi and illegal currency exchange under the guise of auto spare parts.

More than Rs1 million Pakistani were recovered from the accused.

Mobile phones and evidence related to Hawala Hundi and illegal currency exchange were also recovered from the accused.

The accused were arrested, and an investigation has been started.
