An experimental course on Chinese language and culture has been launched in Islamabad to promote cultural exchange between Pakistan and China.
The ceremony, titled “The Language of the Eastern Silk Road,” was held in Islamabad on Monday with Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi as the chief guest.
The course will provide students with an introduction to the Chinese language, calligraphy, traditional festivals and various aspects of Chinese culture. Around 50 Chinese and Pakistani participants are attending the course.
Speaking at the ceremony, Khichi stressed the importance of cultural exchanges in strengthening Pakistan-China relations.
He said the friendship between Pakistan and China is “higher than the mountains, deeper than the oceans and sweeter than honey.”
The minister said language serves as a bridge between civilizations and building lasting trust between nations.
He said that the language programm would provide a long-term platform for cultural exchange among young people.
Khichi urged young participants to become ambassadors of Pakistan-China friendship by learning the Chinese language and culture.
