Pakistan has demanded the accountability of Israel over its atrocities against the people of Gaza, it was reported on Wednesday.
The country’s permanent representative to the United Nations Asim Iftikhar, while reiterating Pakistan’s principled stance on the Palestine issue, has said that the people of Palestine have been enduring barbarities at the hands of Israeli forces for the last several decades. “There should be no violation of a ceasefire in Gaza,” he asserted.
He has also categorically demanded an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinians’ lands. “New Jewish settlements on lands belonging to Palestinians is a biggest obstacle in the way of the two-state solution to the issue.”
Asim also demanded the provision of aid to the people of Gaza without any interruption.
Pakistan’s delegate categorically denounced Sydney terror attack and expressed his sympathies with those who lost their near and dear ones in it.
